Ground Works

Midland Barrier Company can carry out any ground works required prior to the installation of any of the equipment we supply. This includes laying ducting for electrical cables; making concrete bases for manual and electric barriers, tip supports or access control equipment that is pedestal mounted; digging out and concreting in place fixed, removable and retractable bollards; concreting in posts for signs and crash barriers, and much more. We aim to provide you with a complete service.

Installation

We can also carry out the installation of any of the equipment we supply, which mainly involves commissioning. This includes things like bolting down equipment into place, or to the appropriate bases already built during the ground works preparation, and connecting all the electrical side of things together, such as the access control equipment to the barrier, or an intercom into an office or gate house, or push button control systems. All electrical equipment obviously has to be connected to the mains supply, and everything is properly tested. We will do whatever is required to get your system up and running, with the minimum of disruption.

Maintenance and Servicing

All equipment is guaranteed for 12 months, but after that we are happy to provide a maintenance program to keep your equipment in good working order and reduce the effects of general wear and tear. We normally recommend two visits per year, where we check the running values (within specified limits) of all the electrical equipment, lubricate the appropriate moving parts and bearings, clean out any rubbish or debris, and generally check that there is nothing happening to the equipment that could cause problems in the long term with the operational efficiency of the system (such as water getting in, or we've even had ant problems before now!).

Repairs

We are happy to attend call outs for the break down of existing equipment and carry out any repairs that are necessary. We can also provide most types of spares required.
